Completed Projects
Council undertook a $7.7 million dollar upgrade which saw more than 1,100m of new wastewater pipe installed across the Ashburton/Hakatere River and connected to a newly constructed pump station built ten metres underground at the end of Wilkins Road, Tinwald. The pump station is the largest in the district and is capable of pumping up to eight hundred litres per second.
This was a major upgrade for Ashburton's wastewater infrastructure and the complexity involved makes it a landmark project for our region.
Work began on the project in early November 2019 and was completed in December 2020.
