About the EA Networks Centre

Council's new EA Networks Centre is a first-class aquatic and recreational facility designed to meet the sporting needs of Ashburton District now and for generations to come.

Prior to its launch on 9 May 2015, it was a community project that had been in the making since 2007 when the Ashburton Stadium Complex Trust was established.

The Trust has been the driver of Ashburton District's community fundraising efforts for the project and since 2007, has helped raise $5 million towards this important Council asset.

EA Networks Centre, 100% owned and operated by Council, is the district's sporting hub for local residents, as well as appealing to tourists and newcomers.  Whether people visit the centre on a daily or weekly basis or are a considering a permanent move to Ashburton District, they can be assured they have a world-class facility on their doorsteps. It offers something for everyone all year round.

The centre boasts four indoor pools, as well as a relaxing spa and steam room, four indoor courts, two outdoor courts and offers a broad range of aquatic and fitness facilities, including Les Mills and spinning group fitness classes, EANC Swim School, Aquacise classes, and a fully equipped fitness centre featuring the latest gym and fitness testing equipment.

In addition to the aquatic and sports facilities, the impressive new complex also features two modern meeting rooms available for hire (including for children's parties) and retail products for adults and children.  It now includes EAT café which also provides a full on-site catering service.

The indoor stadium houses four competition-sized courts, spectator seating and a sports house that is providing administration space for local sports organisations.

The EA Networks Centre represents an ideal venue for organisations based in all parts of Canterbury who are looking to hold events in the middle of the South Island such as sports championships, awards events and much more.
