Work planned on ARG Road near Mayfield
Contractors will soon begin work on a 500m section of Arundel Rakaia Gorge Road, near Mayfield.
The work involves digging out sections of the road that need repairing, filling and resealing; traffic will be detoured from Mayfield township via Mayfield Klondyke Road and Moorhouse Road.
Council Infrastructure and Open Spaces Group Manager Neil McCann said the short section of Arundel Rakaia Gorge Road will be closed while the repair is under way.
“The work will take up to three weeks and we plan to have the road open a few days ahead of the Mayfield A&P Show, which is on 11 March.”
The closed section is just north of Mayfield township, with detour signs indicating the closure ahead. Council has ordered electronic signs advising traffic that businesses in the township are still open to customers.
