The public holidays over Easter and Anzac Day will see temporary changes to some Council services and facilities.

Rubbish & Recycling

Ashburton’s kerbside collection service will not operate on Good Friday, 7 April, so people whose bins are normally emptied on a Friday should put them out for collection on Saturday 8 April instead.
Bins will be collected as normal the week beginning Monday 10 April.

Anzac Day is on Tuesday 25 April and there will be no change to kerbside collection that day; put your bins out as normal.

Resource Recovery Parks

The Ashburton Resource Recovery Park will be closed Friday 7 April and Monday 10 April over Easter, and closed on Anzac Day Tuesday 25 April. The park will be open its usual hours 9am-5pm on Saturday 8 April and Sunday 9 April.

Rakaia Resource Recovery Park will be closed Friday 7 April, Saturday 8 April and Monday 10 April.

The Methven greenwaste facility will be closed Sunday 9 April.

Ashburton Public Library

The Ashburton Public Library will be closed on 7, 9, 10 April; it will open on Saturday 8 April from 10am to 1pm. Normal hours resume on 11 April. The library's school holiday programme is all about ocean-insired crafts and games and these will run from 10.30am-11.30am on April 12, 14 17, 19 and 21 - dive on in!

The library will be closed on Anzac Day.

Ashburton Art Gallery and Museum

The Ashburton Art Gallery and Museum will be closed Friday 7 April, but open for the rest of the Easter holiday break, which offers a great chance to check out the latest exhibits.

The facility will be open on Anzac Day, 1-4pm, and is inviting people to visit an exhibition about the Westerfield Military Camp and listen to a special talk at 2pm about the camp and Godley Head fort near Lyttleton Harbour.

EA Networks Centre

EA Networks Centre will be closed on Friday 7 April. It will be open 7am to 5pm on Saturday 8 April.

On Sunday 9 April, the aquatic area will be open from 10am to 5pm, and the stadium and gym from 7am until 7pm. The facility will open from 10am until 5pm on Monday 10 April.

On Anzac Day, it will be open from 1pm-7pm.

Customer Services

Council’s administration building on Baring Square West will close at 5pm on Thursday 7 April, and re-open at 8.30am on Tuesday 11 April.

Emails, Snap Send Solves and website requests will be cleared when the office opens for business as usual on Tuesday.

The administration building will be closed on Anzac Day, Tuesday 25 April.

Public toilets around the district will be open daily as usual over Easter and on Anzac Day.
