MetService warns of heavy rain and wind, ECan issues flood advisory
Published: 2 November 2022

Updated 9.30pm - Thursday 3 November
MetService has now lifted all heavy wind and rain warnings for our district, and river flows have peaked. No further updates will be published unless the situation changes.
Environment Canterbury (ECan) updated their flood advisory at 7pm, Thursday 3 November.
- Rain has now eased in the high country and river flows have all peaked in their upper reaches. High flows will continue in alpine rivers overnight (Thursday) and tomorrow (Friday). As flows recede, flow paths can change that may create localised out of river issues. Landowners adjacent to rivers need to continue monitoring their own situation.
- Rangitata River - There are some discrete areas of breakout flooding from the Rangitata River that ECan continue to monitor.
