Mayfield water supply on Level 5 Water Conservation Notice Restriction

UPDATED 22 MARCH at 4.30pm:
Council has lifted the Level 5 water conservation restriction notice for the Mayfield water supply. The bore pump has been replaced and the supply is now operating normally.
An emergency water conservation notice has been placed on the Mayfield Water Supply after a bore pump failed this afternoon (Friday 18 March) and residents on the community scheme are asked to use water only for essential purposes.
18 MARCH:
Council has placed the supply on a Level 5 Water Conservation Notice Restriction, effective immediately.
Until a new bore pump is sourced and installed, water use on the Mayfield supply has to be kept to a minimum, the Ashburton District Council is advising.
A Level 5 Water Conservation Notice (Emergency Management) means only essential water use is permitted at any time during the restriction.
Mayfield residents must limit their use of water to essential domestic, commercial and industrial use only. Essential use includes drinking, washing, and cooking, but not watering plants.
The water supply reservoirs will be kept topped up via tankers until the bore pump can be replaced. To ensure the tankers can keep up with demand, water use in Mayfield must be kept to a minimum.
