Grrreat response from dog owners
The Ashburton District Council is thanking Mid Canterbury dog owners for completing their doggy regos on time, with over 6,000 dogs registered over July.
This year is also the first time that more registrations have been completed online than over the counter.
While a late fee now applies, there is some good news for those with unregistered dogs. Registering before September will save owners from being issued with a costly infringement.
Dog registrations help cover the cost of the Council's animal management services, including returning lost dogs to owners.
Registrations can be completed at the Council offices or online at ashburtondc.govt.nz/dogs
