Ashburton District Council has given consultants Stantec more time to conduct additional traffic modelling and to take into account experiences from the recent flooding event as they prepare the second stage of the business case for a second urban bridge over the Ashburton River.

An additional three months has been given to Stantec to complete this stage of the work.

Council now expects to receive the report by the end of September 2021.
