Summer months in the Ashburton District allow for road construction works to progress, and contractors have been making the most of the sunshine to reseal both urban and rural roads around the district.
Ashburton Contracting Limited (ACL) have resurfaced 57.4km of roads, with all urban sites completed prior to schools heading back for the year.
Street sweeping for loose chip seal along these roads, as well as road marking is now underway. ACL are also beginning to resurface areas along six rural roads.
Motorists are urged to follow signposted speed limits to keep contractors on-site safe and to reduce damage to the roadworks.
