Mid Canterbury welcomes new citizens

Nineteen people have completed their journey to becoming New Zealanders today after receiving their certificate of citizenship at a ceremony at the Ashburton Trust Event Centre.

Ashburton District Mayor Neil Brown conducted the ceremony and congratulated each candidate upon taking their oath or affirmation to New Zealand and the Queen.
The new citizens hail from the Philippines (four), India (two), USA (one), Australia (one), Argentina (six), England (three) and France (one).
This was the final citizenship ceremony for 2020. Congratulations to the district's newest citizens!
