Festive Walk brings cheer to CBD
Published: 16 December 2020
Ashburton’s month-long Nights of Lights festival has been adding a touch of Christmas joy to town in the lead up to the holidays, and this year’s Festive Walk has been celebrating Christmas with the help of the district’s diverse cultural communities.
Groups from around Ashburton have worked with the Council to decorate several empty storefront windows with their own Christmas celebrations, and together with the lights and artworks along the East Street walkway, the installations have created a magical spectacle around the Ashburton CBD.
Special thanks to the United Filipino Dairy Workers, Filipino Dairy Workers in NZ, Ashburton Baptist Church, Samoan Church and local Samoan community for their contributions.
The Festive Walk, presented by Welcoming Communities is on show around the CBD until 6 January 2021.
