EA Networks Centre spa to close for repairs

The EA Networks Centre spa pool will be unavailable to users from Monday 13 January, as staff begin working to repair the pool filter.
The Ashburton District Council has discovered broken parts inside the sand filter that is causing the sand to be pushed into the spa pool.
The filter will need to be drained and sand removed to access the damaged parts, and Council Chief Executive Hamish Riach says the repairs are expected to put the spa out of action for one to two weeks.
"It's really unfortunate that this has happened. The spa is a popular feature in the aquatics centre and we want to get it up and running again as soon as possible for all users.
"In the meantime, the remaining five swimming pools at the EA Networks Centre will remain open. We're also pleased to announce that the technical problem with the circulation pump at the Tinwald pool has been repaired and the pool was reopened yesterday."
The EA Networks Centre spa will close at 7pm on 13 January.
