Council lends support to domestic violence campaign

A new campaign to support victims of domestic violence will see information posters hung in public toilets around the Ashburton District this month.
The Zonta Club's 'Zonta Says No' campaign is currently running until 10 December and the Ashburton District Council has come on board to ensure the posters are available in its facilities all around the district.
The posters contain useful information to help women who may be in abusive relationships, and the location of the posters has been carefully selected: Public toilets are considered an accessible and safe place for women to see the information.
The initiative also has the support of Ashburton Trust who provided a grant to print materials for the campaign.
