With the country moving down to an Alert Level Three from Tuesday 28 April, the Council and contractors, Tru Line Civil will recommence work on the Ashburton CBD Streetscape Renewal project.
The reduced level allows for crews to get back to work upgrading the CBD. Several safety measures will be in place to ensure the wellbeing of staff and the community under the alert.
The initial work will include stormwater pipe installation on Cass Street; wastewater pipe installation on Tancred Street between Cass and East Streets; the construction of rain gardens on Cass Street; and connecting the new watermain pipeline that has been installed along Tancred and Cass Streets.
Tru Line Civil will be working hard to get the project back on track and minimise the impact it is having on CBD businesses, particularly as businesses look to reopen and recover when the Government eases lockdown restrictions.
