Tūhura Tuarangi: Aotearoa in Space
This is a space science showcase that is out of this world! Developed by Otago Museum, Tūhura Tuarangi is packed with hands-on interactives to play with, build, launch and explore with your whole whānau. Discover the amazing space technologies and world-leading research going on right here in Aotearoa.
You will get to build a satellite, launch a rocket, and see how you can create energy out of water. Get up close with ion thrusters, a four-billion-year-old meteor and parts of a secret Russian space craft, including an Ashburton ‘space ball’ on loan from the Aviation Museum. Learn about this exciting local mystery from the 1970s and much more at the Ashburton Art Gallery and Museum these school holidays!
