About the event

Lost luggage includes items of luggage or personal goods left behind or that have not arrived at the correct destination with the passenger. Whether travelling by rail, bus, ship or airline, lost luggage usually and hopefully follows shortly after.

Luggage with no claimant was (and in some cases, still is) forwarded to the nearest city, advertised, and auctioned. Goods were sold as displayed – cases unopened, boxes and bags sealed, the contents could be trash or treasure.

What do passengers lose? While Lost Luggage displays an assortment of items regularly lost by passengers, some more unusual or unexpected items appear on the shelves. Can you spot them? Would you expect someone to lose such a thing
