Zonta Ashburton Female Art Awards 2024

It's that time of year! ZAFAA24 is returning to Ashburton Art Gallery and Museum.

Now in its eighth year, the Zonta Ashburton Female Art Awards exhibition presented by The Zonta Club of Ashburton in partnership with the Ashburton Art Gallery showcases the works of emerging and mid-career female artists based in Canterbury. The award seeks to raise the status of female visual artists working in the wider Canterbury area and acknowledges excellence in emerging and mid-career female artists as well as providing a platform for female youth.

This year's exhibition will be open to the public from March 02 until April 14. A major cash prize and solo exhibition will be awarded to the Premier Award winner, and all selected finalists will have their work shown in the awards exhibition at the Ashburton Art Gallery and Museum.

Along with the Premier Award is a Young Generation Award for female artists between the ages of sixteen and twenty. This is a cash prize that acknowledges distinguished potential in art and aims to encourage further creative endeavours: an outcome well suited to Zonta—a global organisation of women working to elevate the status of women worldwide. In addition, there is a People’s Choice Award that runs throughout the course of the exhibition.
