About the event

In Crooked Spur, Chris Pole’s less traditional landscape paintings use a diagonal ‘slice’ to offset the image. Inspired by his travels through the Southern Alps, Kā Tiritiri-o-te-moana, these paintings bring the viewer into the landscape as a ‘participant’ rather than an ‘observer’.

Come along at 2pm on Sunday 17 December to hear our lovely Front of House Assistant Jacqui speak about Chris Pole’s unconventional yet realistic paintings. Playing with visual perception, Pole’s unique treatment of landscape has resulted in a dynamic exhibition featuring voids to be filled by viewers’ imaginations.
